The Artist Conk, shelf mushrooms
I saw a guy at one of my shows, who was using the mushrooms as an art surface, and thought to myself that I could do that for something different to do. I would see them on decaying trees as i walked through the woods hunting and decided i would try it out. You can scratch the surface to reveal a dark brown color somewhat like using a scratch board. I have also been painting on them as well.

Gary Chudzinski - he does great stuff. I wondered if it was he who had inspired you when I was looking at your website. He's done the Arts Fest before, but not this year, I think. I included one of your conk pics in the Arts Fest photo album.
