The Artist Conk, shelf mushrooms

I saw a guy at one of my shows, who was using the mushrooms as an art surface, and thought to myself that I could do that for something different to do. I would see them on decaying trees as i walked through the woods hunting and decided i would try it out. You can scratch the surface to reveal a dark brown color somewhat like using a scratch board. I have also been painting on them as well.

Colbert Cottage, Iroquois Island

This is a commissioned piece I did right before
Christmas. The photo isn't the best, but I am
happy with the way the painting turned out
overall. The home sits on Iroquois island,
St. Lawrence river
My attempts at building a website, to display my work, haven't really worked out quite yet. In the mean time, I am using this blog to catalog my artwork and get it online for more to see.

If interested, most of my wildlife and sporting art can actually be purchased to own in the form of giclee prints. Just send me an email if you're interested in a certain print and we can work something out.
